About Me.  After years of bouncing around from job to job-- fruit picker, forklift driver, respiratory therapist, rock drill operator, picture framer, concrete mixer for burial vaults-- I finally found my way to kids' books. I've written and illustrated eight picture books, and have illustrated another ten that were written by other authors including Eve Bunting and Lisa Wheeler. For older kids (and grownups) I've been lucky enough to be the illustrator of the bizarre "Pals in Peril" series by National Book Award winner M.T. Anderson. Upcoming signings:  I will be at the Oregon State Fair August 27 through September 6, in Salem OR. You can find me at the Authors Table 12 hours a day, eleven straight days. Those hours get really, really long, so please stop by and say hello. Please! I'm begging. You don't have to buy anything. I'll give you a poster or something. Then, October 23 2010, I've penciled in a joint signing and storytelling with Judy Sierra at the Eugene Barnes & Noble.  Judy has written some wonderful bestselling picture books.
