A few years back I was reading a book of American Folklore and came across a bunch of kids' rhymes-- jump rope rhymes, counting rhymes, and general nonsense. The meters were so catchy and the rhyming so goofy that I had to try it myself. That led eventually to this, my first collection of rhymes (or "poems," as the publisher insists on calling them). It follows the shenanigans of the small critters that populate a neglected garden over the course of one growing season.
Oddhopper Opera got a starred review from Kirkus and made the American Booksellers Association's Pick of the Lists. It's available in hardcover and in paperback.
