When I learned that frogs lived in the age of dinosaurs (which makes sense, considering that reptiles evolved from amphibians), I knew there was a book in it. Tadpole Rex lives in the late Cretaceous Period alongside some of our favorite dinosaurs-- Triceratops, Alamosaurus, and of course Tyrannosaurus Rex. But don't worry about the tadpole. He's got an inner tyrannosaur.

A companion book about a giant sea turtle named Archelon is in the works and will be published Spring 2011 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Archelon lived in the same time period, the late Cretaceous, and swam in what is now the midwestern states of North America. This book is tentatively titled The Voyage of Turtle Rex.
